Especially if you are using the product key to upgrade from Windows HOME (standard default installation) to PRO.
If you don’t want to do a fresh installation, then please follow this tutorial to upgrade from Windows 11 Home (default install) to PRO (using a generic key).

- Download and Install ALL updates so you’re on the very latest version.
- Disconnect your device from the internet.
- Then: Click Start -> Go to Setting
Click on System -> Activation
Click on Activate, then -> Change Product Key OR Upgrade your edition of Windows. - Then enter the UPGRADE key (valid for both W10 & W11): VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T
- You will either get a error or windows will start upgrading.
- If Windows doesn’t upgrade then turn the internet on and restart the device.
- After restarting, it should show the edition as Windows 11 PRO.
